This spring I broke my sort-of rule that I would focus on easy-care fabrics and made the shell and blouse out of silk. So far so good - I've hand washed them and they've held up well and are still a joy to wear. But....one is a tropical print and the other is bright, bright green! I decided that I needed a couple more versions of the shell - enter two more colors of silk crepe from Mood!
I haven't had a chance to cut into it yet, but it's all handwashed and dried and ready to go. I also bought two silks, 1.5 yards each, to make into slips. I don't have a pattern yet, though! I might just trace off of the one silk slip I already have. They were cheaper silks, one is a charmeuse for something fancy-feeling, and the other is a georgette that matches my skin tone. I'm not adding lace, just want it to disappear as well as it can. I'll handwork the hem again, since that seems to be the flattest and least puckery.
Silk feels fantastic against your skin, enjoy.
