I am having way too much fun with that sparkly knit I posted. It's still available at Joann: Pleated metallic knit
I used New look 6145, an old one, for the cowl-neck and body:
But I redrew the armsyce and used the sleeve from Simplicity 1278, since I know those fit me well and they have the nice little tucks at the elbow that make it look a bit more fitted even though it really isn't. Since the whole thing was a knit, I didn't worry about cutting on the straight grain (the bodice calls for the bias), and am likely going to finish all the edges pretty simply - no facings on the back like the ones that are called for.
So far I've got one sleeve stitched on and have decided that it somehow does avoid the silver-spacesuit look I was afraid of, while then being less vampy than it would be as a sparkly silver sleeveless cowlneck. Or maybe I'm fooling myself and it DOES looks like a spacesuit.
