Second pair of jeans for SWAP are complete! Photos are after I wore them all day, so they are a bit wrinkly. They also look really shiny in the nighttime lighting on my dining room table - far more shiny than reality! This pic captures the sheen of the slightly metallic polyester stretch denim pretty well.
I wasn't sure about this fabric when it showed up, since it had that scratchy polyester feel that bad uniforms have. But it both has some nice body and an immense amount of stretch, two things that I love in trousers! I lined with some poly satin from stash. Pretty insides!
Back and front pics show how shiny this looks under bright LED lights above our dining room table. Sorry about the wrinkles, these had a hard days wear and probably could use a washing since they were put on fresh off of the sewing machine. I didn't even bother with a nice hem, just topstitched. With this pattern it's not clear that anything would show, and I wasn't 100% sure where I wanted the hem. I used a long stitch so I can adjust later. I had to cut these legs a little bit narrower than usual because of fabric limitations, but I think that with this fabric, less is more!
