Oh no! Bad pants.

I sewed up the side seams of those non-stretch gabardine trousers last night, pulled them on, and....they were WAY too small.  No way I could zip them up.  Needed 2 inches or so more.  Yikes!

I was surprised, since I made blue corduroy ones (non-stretch) just last fall and they worked fine.  But I THINK that what happened is that I cut those a lot bigger and then didn't take note of it.  Whoops.  I ripped out the side seams this morning and am planning on inserting a strip along the side.  Good news is that this then can be used as a guide for future makes.  And since the waistband is yet to be attached, it should look relatively intentional.  I just wasn't ready to bin these, mostly since I really love the fabric AND because I want to see how my crotch adjustment goes.  I moved it down by about 2 cm since my last three pairs (including the corduroy ones) have been rather uncomfortable in that area.

In other SWAP news, I was excited to work late last night after the girls went to bed (hubby is out of town), but then the youngest had night terrors/painful sore throat and I ended up needing to cuddle her to sleep and then hold her for most of the night.  So I'm EXHAUSTED *and* didn't get to work on my SWAP.  :(
