SWAP choices...

Progress - The upper collar is 90% embellished, and my Jalie 2908 jeans have the zipper in!  Just need to attach front to back and do the waistband/belt loops.

Decision points ahead:

Embellishing underside of collar, and front facings:  The couched embellishment is pretty, but I'm concerned that double layers of it will be really too bulky and uncomfortable.  I think I might do those pieces with a chain stitch or even just a running stitch instead.

Interfacing for Suit Jacket: The suiting I'm using (the stuff I dyed) is really lightweight.  Think flowy slacks.  But I'm balking at interfacing the whole thing, in part because I've had bad luck with interfacing bubbling in the past and the entire area of the suit is a big area! And it's a bit expensive. However, what I do have is a big old cotton duvet cover that I've been using for muslins.  I think it would be the right weight for sewn-in interfacing, and I haven't found anything online that says you have to use the synthetic stuff.  I might try just a dusting of the spray adhesive to keep all the pieces together.  Heck, it's worth a try!

Beads: I just vaguely feel like an AC-focused SWAP should have some beading.  But the garments are kind of meant for summer.  I bought a bag of clear/silver-lined glass bugle beads and will stare at them for some time to see if I get inspired.  Perhaps on one of the tops.

Note for Jalie 2908 on fly construction:  when sewing the first zipper seam, on the right hand side of the zipper (your right as you are wearing it, left side of the garment as you are staring at it from above), line the edge of the teeth up on the basted line, not the center of the teeth.  If you are staring at the inside of the garment, that means the zipper is moved to the right relative to its being exactly centered on the basted line.  When complete, this moves the zipper farther underneath the fly so that it doesn't show when closed.  Hey, ask me how I know!
