We had a *lovely* time in Rochester with another family, visiting the museums. We ended up at a very nice cafe - Blue Sky Bistro or something close to that, that was a bit of a mix of a sports bar and higher-end grill.
I got my jacket pieces ironed (to set the paint) and most of them basted to the backing fabric. I chose to baste with the machine right on the seam allowances, mostly so that I can tell where to start the couching strips.
All I really got done was about half of the collar. I'd started with couching strips that were a bit too wide - it looks better with ones that were cut 1/2" to 5/8" wide instead of the 1" I started with. Once we got home tonight I sewed the pockets through center back seam on the brown gabardine trousers. I want to wear them SO MUCH! They are going to be so soft and warm.
