Suit!

I've got me a suit!

Boy, it wrinkles if you even look at it.  This is the pattern I'm going to use for my blue wool suit, with longer arms, of course.  I'm going to try and diagnose the problem of pulling that you can see there in the bodice.  It's got princess seams, so a little bit of extra ease in the bust might improve the situation.

For the skirt, I put in a pleated panel in the back, thinking that would be oh so pretty.  Nope. Oh boy, I don't even really want to post this photo.

Here goes:

Please ignore the wrinkles - I'd just driven the kids to gymnastics and then driven to work.  But the panel is definitely a problem - sitting on it makes it wrinkle no matter how careful I am, and from the side it kind of sticks out like a bit of a mermaid tail.  For the "fancy" wool suit I'm going with a simple pencil skirt with a normal vent.
